“To me, a complete eduction is not just about studying and gaining knowledge in your chosen field, but also broadening your horizons in terms of experience;as well as gaining vital transferable life skills. This can be achieved through involvement in extracurricular activities whether volunteering in your local community or being an active society or committee member on campus. Taking part in a range of events and activities is the perfect opportunities to meet like minded people and improve confidence at the same time as gaining invaluable personal fulfillment; all elements essential for ensuring a well-rounded educational experience.”

What lifewide learning means to the students

“University is such a vibrant and exciting place where there are so many opportunities at hand, such a wonderful variety of people, and really involved union. It means so much to me to really make the most of your time here, not only in the degree but in all areas of university life. I don’t believe in wasted experiences.”

“‘why do we fall? so that we learn to pick ourselves up’ learning through life experience does not come with instant gratification. This is what makes it bitter sometimes, because we do not learn until maybe much later what the significance of an experience we had earlier, was. And although this lack of instant gratification makes lifewide learning a daunting experience, it is also the essential thing that makes it stand apart from any sort of instruction that can be imparted in a classroom”
